Day 19 : Domesickness
This Weekend the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Dominated the Nevada Wolfpack in a shutout 35-0! This was the first Irish shutout (in the good way anyway) since 2002.
I watched the game with my friend Jamie here in Buffalo. A little deviation from the tech fast, yes. It was wonderful to see it and hear from friends who were at the game, but I think the class of ’09 can empathize with me that it was kinda sad.
For me a lot of that sadness is born out of feeling like I’m missing out on something. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s kinda dome-shaped… gleams gold and blue… it’s also seemingly cloaked in a mantel of glory… oh yeah, and it’s tender strong and true.
There are definitely parts of my Notre Dame experience that were pretty negative and there are many things I would change about the way things are run at that school. But there are a couple things about it all that I will always hold to be true:
1. South is where it’s at.
2. “Love Thee Notre Dame”. Wurd.
